Junior Infants Room 5: At Play

Room 5 have been enjoying playing with our different topics over the last few months. Play allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Play is important to healthy brain development. It is through play that children at a very early age engage and interact in the world around them.

Two of our favourite play topics have been the Clothes Shop and the School! See photos here.

If you flick through the pictures, you will see some of the different play areas we have in our classroom. Here we are in the creative area making Gruffalo characters!

Some of us really enjoy the construction area where we can build all sorts of structures.

Another area is the small world area, where we act out different real life situations such as getting petrol.

However, the role play area is our absolute favourite! Here we are acting in the school. Can you spot the teacher?
