Citywest & Saggart

Community National School

Principal: Junior Achievement Award

I am delighted that we were successful in our application to participate in the Junior Achievement Awards!

This involves volunteers from local businesses coming out to the school and delivering lessons to the children on various topics. Most big companies have a Social Responsibility Fund where they give back to the community and this is one way that they do it.

It is a great opportunity for the children to hear about life outside the classroom. We are very fortunate in Citywest to be so close to many big companies. We hope to develop our relationships with these overtime. I am sure in the future we will be able to organise site visits to some of them.

Two volunteers will be working for 5 weeks (5 lessons) with some Senior Infant classes this term but we will have much more from September onwards. You’d never know, your child might find out at a very early age what they want to be after they finish school!
